3 weeks

Sometimes when I change your diaper or we lie in bed, you put your tiny feet on my belly and give it a little kick. The feeling is so familiar and so different at the same time. I know those feet on my belly, I'm just used to the kicks coming from the inside. Just like then, the feeling is so sweet but I will say that now it's better because now I get to kiss you.

foot to paw.
You get the hiccups ALL THE TIME just like you did in the belly. Now I can help you make them go away by nursing. It looks like such hard work, though.

i could stare at this all day.
Your umbilical cord fell off last week. I was excited to see what your little belly button looked like and to give you your first bath but also a little sad. That was the last vestige of our connection. But oh my goodness is your belly button cute.

why, mom, why?
Lucy is learning the command "Check on Eddy!" She loves you so much already and is so concerned every time you make a peep. We are so lucky to have her. You are going to LOVE playing with her. I know she can't wait.

the best big sister in the world.
Anytime you lie on my chest or get wrapped up in the Moby, you fall into the deepest, sweetest sleep. The sound of my heart lulls you to dreamland. You love that sound, just like I loved hearing your heartbeat when you were in my belly. You're the only person on Earth that knows what my heart sounds like from the inside.
listening to heart tones.
I am still working on the story of your birth day. It's a big story to write and I want to make sure that it's perfect.

I love you more than I could have ever imagined.
